MSP Lab is seeking a high-calibre Network Infrastructure Engineer to deliver and support solutions, including:
oNext Generation Firewall
oEDR and MDR
oWeb Filtering & Safeguarding
oWired and wireless networks
oServer and storage technologies
oBackup technologies
oCloud IaaS
•The role will include technical pre-sales, project delivery and ongoing support
1.6.1. Required Competencies
•The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
o2nd/3rd line network configuration and troubleshooting
o2nd/3rd line Windows Server configuration and troubleshooting
o2nd/3rd line firewall configuration and troubleshooting
oWorking on a varied ServiceDesk within the ITIL framework
oScoping and designing solutions for clients
oDelivering on-site and remote projects
•Required Experience:
oFortinet NSE4 certification or equivalent experience
oThorough understanding of Networking Principles i.e. DNS, DHCP, IP Subnetting, Routing
oMicrosoft Intune and Entra ID (Prev. Azure AD)
oEmail Protection and security
oThorough understanding of Web Filtering configuration
oAruba Wired and Wireless
•Desirable Experience:
oPrevious experience delivering IT Services within schools or educational organisations
oBarracuda Email Protection
oServer and Storage Technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, HPE)
oVeeam or other backup technologies
oSophos or other XDR technologies
1.6.2. Responsibilities and Tasks
•Leverage our portfolio of accomplished industry-leading technologies to:
oAct as a key member of our technical pre-sales function, designing best-practice solutions
oDeliver on-site and remote project engineering, keeping clients updated throughout
oProvide on-going remote 2nd/3rd line support to clients’ IT Managers and IT Teams
oDeliver mission-critical design, delivery and support services to our managed firewall clients
oCreate and maintain technology documentation
•Keep our CRM & PSA up to date
• Act as a stakeholder for client projects from discovery through to completion
Resolving and acting as a point of escalation for all customers.
•Working closely with all areas of the business to ensure that a positive customer experience is maintained consistently.
oKeep informed of Market and Competitor activity and feed this back to the team to ensure we are always providing the best value and best technology portfolio
oRepresenting the company at industry and trade events
oEngaging clients with a consultative approach
oWork with clients and colleagues to create technical roadmaps
oProvide senior engineering and IT manager cover
oAny other responsibilities required to support the business
